Sennheiser ME66 overview
The Sennheiser ME 66/K6P - Supercardioid Mic Capsule with K6P Kit includes an ME66 supercardioid shotgun microphone capsule and a K6P power module. The ME 66 features a highly directional supercardioid/lobar polar pattern, allowing for high off-axis rejection and focused pick up. It can handle up to 125 dB SPL, and has a frequency response of 40 Hz to 20 kHz. The ME 66 is powered by the included K6P power module, which supplies not only power, but features a switchable bass roll-off switch and on/off switch.

The Sennheiser ME 66 is a supercardioid shotgun condenser microphone designed to provide focused sound pickup for boom operators, sound engineers, and videographers in ENG, EFP, video and television production, broadcast, and interviews. Its supercardioid/lobar polar pattern delivers a tight, focused pickup area with effective rejection of sounds from the sides and rear of the mic. A wide 40 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response ensures accurate signal capture across the frequency spectrum, making it welcome for recording dialog, Foley, sound effects, and ambient noise.
With high sensitivity and maximum SPL ratings, it works well with a variety of preamps and can handle both hushed and loud sound sources. Its low self-noise yields an improved signal-to-noise ratio appropriate for typical digital recording systems.
The ME 66 easily attaches to a K6 or K6P powering module (required and available separately) for simple integration with standard microphone preamps. Its compact body allows camera and boompole mounting while remaining out of the shot.

The Sennheiser K6P is the mic body and power supply for Sennheiser's professional condenser modular microphone system. You can assemble a complete microphone, with your choice of pick-up pattern, by combining the K6P with one of five different K6-series microphone heads (not included).
The K6P features a black, anodized, scratch-resistant finish. It's designed for use in situations where phantom power is present. Users who need a battery-powered mic can purchase Sennheiser's K6, instead. The K6P features a switchable bass roll-off filter to help reduce low end rumble, handling noise, wind noise, and pops. It also features an On/Off switch, and a transformerless balanced output on a 3-pin XLR connector.
